European Portuguese Version of the User Satisfaction Evaluation Questionnaire (USEQ): Transcultural Adaptation and Validation Study

Background Wearable activity trackers have the potential to encourage users adopt healthier lifestyles by tracking daily health information. However, usability is a critical factor in technology adoption. Older adults may be more resistant accepting novel technologies. Understanding difficulties that older face when using useful for implementing strategies promote their use. Objective The purpose of this study was conduct transcultural adaptation User Satisfaction Evaluation Questionnaire (USEQ) into European Portuguese and validate adapted questionnaire. Additionally, we aimed provide information about adults’ satisfaction regarding use an tracker (Xiaomi Mi Band 2). Methods USEQ translated following internationally accepted guidelines. psychometric evaluation final version assessed based on structural validity exploratory confirmatory analyses. Construct examined divergent discriminant analysis, internal consistency evaluated Cronbach α McDonald ω coefficients. Results A total 110 completed Confirmatory analysis supported conceptual unidimensionality (χ24=7.313, P=.12, comparative fit index=0.973, Tucker-Lewis index=0.931, goodness index=0.977, root mean square error approximation=0.087, standardized residual=0.038). showed acceptable reliability (Cronbach α=.677, ω=0.722). Overall, 90% participants reported excellent with Xiaomi 2. Conclusions findings support as valid reliable tool measuring user wearable adults, properties consistent original version.
